Job Purpose:

The Business Development & Marketing Officer is responsible for growing the customer base, revenue and brand visibility of our client. The Business Development & Marketing Officer drives growth by securing new potential clients, partnerships, and market opportunities for our client’s legal publications and services. The Business Development & Marketing Officer promotes the brand through targeted campaigns, presentations, and stakeholder engagement across the legal and corporate sectors. The role centers on relationship management, and revenue expansion aligned with our client’s strategic goals. The role involves winning new business, strengthening client accounts, and positioning our client as a leading legal information provider.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop annual growth plans aligned with our client’s revenue and market expansion goals.
• Formulate market entry plans for new legal publications and relevant services among new regions.
• Achieve and exceed sales targets, contributing directly to our client’s growth and profitability.
• Create pricing strategy recommendations based on value, demand, and competition.
• Establish and maintain partnerships with legal bodies, academic institutions, and professional associations to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
• Prepare brand positioning guidelines to strengthen our client’s authority in legal information services.
• Develop service promotion roadmap for new and existing products.
• Recommend client retention policies to improve loyalty and repeat business.
• Set measurable growth targets and performance indicators and work to attain them.
• Draft market intelligence reports to guide management decision-making.
• Design competitive response strategies to maintain our client’s market advantage.
• Formulate communication standards for our client’s external marketing and stakeholder engagement.
• Recommend digital marketing approaches and direction to expand reach and visibility.
• Support leadership in strategic planning sessions with data-driven insights.
• Review and refine business development policies to ensure alignment with our client’s long-term vision.
• Oversee unit performance and coordinate team activities to achieve our client’s growth and revenue objectives.
• Provide reports to management and present insights into market performance, opportunities, and unit outcomes.
• Ensure policy compliance and quality standards are maintained consistency in client engagement, branding, and professional conduct across the unit.
• Conduct market research to analyze trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences.
• Assist in preparing and managing marketing budgets to ensure cost-effective campaign execution.
• Any other assigned duties.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or related field; MBA or relevant certifications preferred.
• Proven track record of at least 5 years in business development, sales, marketing or a related leadership role.
• Experience in managing B2B, B2C, and B2G partnerships and projects.
• Strong understanding of market research, industry trends, and competitive analysis.
• Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to network effectively.
• Expertise in sales planning, contract negotiation, and closing high-value deals.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify opportunities.
• Proficiency in creating impactful presentations and delivering them to diverse audiences.
• Strong leadership and team collaboration skills to work across departments and deliver client solutions.
• Persuasive capacity and proven ability to achieve and exceed sales targets.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Proficiency with digital marketing tools and customer relationship management (CRM) software is an advantage.
• Experience in digital media, content creation, partnerships, sponsorships and market expansion is desirable.
• Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
