Our company, ACE HUMAN RESOURCES CONSULTING, is recruiting a Chief Financial Officer for our client in Lagos. Our client is a solid corporate organization which has been in existence progressively since 1976.

Job Purpose:

The Chief Financial Officer is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of our client. The role involves financial planning and budgeting, risk management, cost control, sound financial record-keeping, financial reporting and ensuring fiscal responsibility to support the client’s goals and growth.

Job Responsibilities:

• Direct and oversee all aspects of finance, accounting, and budgeting functions.
• Ensure that financial and accounting policies and procedures are in accordance with statutory regulations and global standards.
• Prepare financial projections and budgets in line with the organization’s business plan.
• Monitor financial performance indicators, analyze trends, and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
• Lead the development and execution of the client’s financial plan in alignment with corporate goals.
• Establish and maintain sound financial controls and procedures to safeguard assets, prevent fraud, and ensure accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.
• Manage the client’s cash flow, liquidity, investments, credit facilities, funding strategies and risk management activities.
• Optimize working capital management and develop strategies to maximize returns on the client’s funds while minimizing financial costs and risks.
• Ensure tax planning efficiency and regulatory compliance.
• Approve official transactions in line with the client’s approval limit.
• Lead financial planning, forecasting, and analysis to inform decision-making.
• Support procurement and contract negotiations from a financial standpoint.
• Review all finance, HR and IT-related procedures to ensure that they align with financial policies of the organization.
• Perform risk management by analyzing the client’s liabilities and investments.
• Ensure that all accounting records are accurate and properly maintained.
• Provide recommendations to enhance financial performance and new business opportunities.
• Provide leadership and supervise the finance team members.
• Oversee relationships with auditors, banks, and other financial partners.
• Promote a culture of accountability and performance excellence relative to the client’s finances.
• Provide financial leadership and guidance to the executive team and the Board of Directors.
• Manage relationship with vendors to uphold the financial prudence of the client.
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies such as the Nigeria Revenue Service and relevant IRS, while ensuring compliance with all regulatory and tax obligations for the client.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the finances of the client.
• Any other assigned duties.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with postgraduate business qualification or an MBA.
• Professional certifications such as ACA, ACCA, or CFA is required.
• Minimum of 12 years’ progressive experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, IFRS, treasury management, tax planning, corporate governance frameworks and regulatory compliance.
• Experience in strategic financial analysis and planning.
• Knowledge of statistical and other research methods and procedures.
• Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality, and corporate governance awareness.
• Strong knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships at all levels.
